What makes a vegan wine different than any other wine? Isn’t wine, by definition, vegan? Not exactly. Some wines (and beers) are made using animal products. The most common of these is eisenglass, a fish membrane used during the filtering process of some wines. More info on this can be found here. http://www.barnivore.com/
This wine tasting will give you an opportunity to taste high quality vegan wines, and judge for yourself whether or not you notice a difference. There will also be a spread of delicious vegan appetizers to enjoy.
Whether vegan or just veg-curious, CincyVeg invites you out for a night on the town, sampling great wines, tasty food and live music in a beautiful and friendly space – the Plum Court Wine Room. This downtown wine bar is currently open only on Thursdays and for special events, so remains one of the city’s best kept secrets. They are extremely open to the idea of catering to vegans by carrying vegan and organic wines as well as offering vegan wine tastings (with vegan food). CincyVeg wants to support this – hopefully together we can help create a trend!
Bottles of vegan wine will also be available on discount during the night. Seating limited, reservations recommended. For more info, please visit the facebook page.
